The sold out debate featured Richard Fisher, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Simon Johnson, Professor of Entrepreneurship at MIT for the motion. Against the motion were Douglas Elliot, Fellow at Brookings Institute and Paul Saltzman, President of The Clearing House Association. Read more... "More Clicks, Fewer Bricks" debating the merits of massive open online coursesOn April 2nd, the Richman Center in partnership with Intelligence Squared U.S. hosted a debate arguing the motion "More Clicks, Fewer Bricks: The Lecture Hall is Obsolete" about the growing popularity of massive open online courses. The debate featured Jonathan Cole, the John Mitchell Mason Professor of the University and Columbia’s former Provost and Dean of Faculties, and Rebecca Schuman of Slate and Chronicle of Higher Education, Anant Agarwal, President, edX and Professor, MIT, and Ben Nelson, Founder and CEO, Minerva Project.
